Dear A-Abco Rents,

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of CASA of San Mateo County, thank you for your support of the Auxiliary’s Garden Party 2012. As you are aware, proceeds from this event go directly to the CASA Program which serves foster children in our community.

Each year soo – 6oo children in San Mateo County enter the child welfare system. These children, whose parents can’t or won’t care for them, are under the protection of the Juvenile Court. They suffer significant trauma and are separated from their families, homes, schools and friends. They are at risk of being left behind in every way imaginable unless they receive significant intervention by caring adults.

With the generous support of individuals like you, we were able to provide 300 foster children with consistent, caring adult volunteers this past year. These CASAs visited their children weekly, identified social, emotional, physical, developmental and educational needs and ensured that those needs were addressed in a timely manner. They submitted reports to the Court that guided judges’ decision making. They engaged their children in enrichment activities and provided support during traumatic events, such as changes in home placements, schools, and foster families.

Over 100 children are on our wait list for their own CASA. Your support of the Auxiliary’s Garden Party 2012 will help us make a CASA a reality for them.
